Akiva Eldar analyzes very well the contribution that Sharon's disengagement adventures have made to defining the political map of Israel: the Likud as such cannot claim to be a center party anymore, since it has proven to be unable to accept even the most watered down versions of a disengagment plan that was not too drastic to begin with.
