A possible evacuation of the Gaza settlers will cost us dearly, but such an investment would make much more sense than a continued investment in what is obviously becoming a lost cause. Except for those who only recently moved into one of the twenty something settlements in the Strip, people who had their homes built there - few of them built their homes themselves, both beyond and within the Green Line we rely mostly on foreign workers to build for us - of course deserve a fair compensation which will allow them to rebuild their houses and their lives here with us. No matter how high the financial price that has to be paid to get those settlers out, it is worth it: the financial, human and political price for staying there is much higher.
