The caption accompanying this picture in today's Ha'Aretz says "Flower power: Members of a Norwegian pro-Israel Christian organization distributing bouquets to residents of Gush Katif in the Gaza Strip on Friday. A letter of support was attached to each of the 1,700 bouquets." Never mind that it somehow appears as if the man and women on the picture are laying funeral wreaths, or that I never saw any of these Norwegians support Israel by doing guard duty on the Philadelphi route. What really annoys me is that people like this are automatically called pro-Israel. Is pro-settler the same as pro-Israel? Does anybody who opposes the settlements automatically qualify as anti-Israel? Isn't an end to the occupation much more in the interest of the Jewish state than a continuation of our largely illegal and certainly destructive presence there?
