Barak, Labor and the occupation
I totally agree with what Yossi Sarid says here about Ehud Barak, the Labor Party and their role in Israel's policies across the Green Line. The mere fact that the decision about the Ariel College becoming a university is actually made by the Minister of Defense says enough about the academic qualities and background of both that decision and the college. If the college becomes a university, it will become even easier for Israel-bashers to lobby for a boycott against Israeli academics and academia. And it will become much more difficult for opponents of such a boycott to come up with convincing counterarguments.
