Bertrams' view on the world

Joep Bertrams' view on two current news items.
Thanks for the flowers
( At Easter, when the Pope wishes the crowd at St Peter's square a happy Easter in tens of different languages, in Dutch he also expresses his appreciation for the flowers that are sent from Holland every year to decorate the square for the holiday. I think it was Pope John Paul II who started this, and since then, "Thanks for the flowers", said in a heavy foreign accent ( reflected by the spelling used here by Bertrams ), has become a set phrase in Dutch )
